New Automation System Increasing Efficiency in Pyrolysis Reactors

We examine how we optimized reactor heat balance with 4th generation SCADA integration and its effects on production quality.

As AHLAT Energy, we continue to raise the bar in industrial tire recycling. The automation system with 4th generation SCADA integration, which we commissioned last month, optimized the reactor heat balance and provided a 15% increase in production efficiency.

The pyrolysis process is based on the principle of thermal decomposition of tires in an oxygen-free environment. The most critical parameter in this process is keeping the temperature inside the reactor stable. In traditional methods, manual interventions could cause heat fluctuations and thus standard deviations in product quality (especially in TPO).

Why Automation?

Our new system analyzes more than 1000 data points per second and manages burners and cooling systems with millisecond responses. In this way:

  • Energy Saving: Unnecessary fuel consumption has been minimized.
  • Product Quality: TPO flash point and viscosity have been standardized.
  • Safety: Automatic evacuation protocols have become more precise in pressure increases.

In the coming period, we aim to detect malfunctions before they occur by commissioning artificial intelligence (AI) supported predictive maintenance modules. As AHLAT, our vision is to be a global brand that determines Tier-1 facility standards.
